Getting ready for New York City 2009 This time going to go fast. Trying some high tech stuff. Here's a plot of week 2 long run - commentary to follow:
Chicago 2006 - E, F, P

Pre-TrainingI ran yesterday. 1/2 hour. But I also ate two or three danishes. So, net, I didn't do anything. Maybe today.
6/26/2006 - Week One ReportOK, I'm on the 18 week plan. Sort of like a 12 step program, but different.
Mileage = 15 miles
Long run = 6 (why?)
Cheating = Couldn't do the long run Saturday so I did it Sunday and skipped cross-training.
Weight = Started at 176, ended at 178. What's up with that? (May have been the salami bread, sausage roll, and baked ziti from Cole and Anna's baptism on Sunday - just a hunch.)
Injuries = Does not being able to touch your toes count?
Route = Around and around Gamecock Lane. Our circle is just over 1/4 mile, so it was 12 laps each night and 24 yesterday. Running at night as the bossman and the market gods have not allowed for a noon sprint to Brooklyn.
Tunes =
Clerks soundtrack,
STIR's unreleased album (download free), Taking Back Sunday -
Tell All Your Friends7/2/2006 - Week Two ReportOne more week and I may actually book a flight.
Mileage = 16 miles
Long run = 7 and change
Cheating = Too tired for the long run Saturday so I did it Sunday morning. May cross-train tomorrow if I get out of work early and make it to the pool.
Weight = Back to 176. Is this progress? Up next, the Velvet Jones Diet.
Injuries = Blisters, left foot.
Route =
From the job up to the Brooklyn Bridge, over, and back. That's three and change. The seven miler took me all over Babylon, leading from town to the Great South Bay twice.
Tunes =
U2 - How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb (go ahead and click to run the ActiveX), JET -
Get Born , The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced?
7/9/2006 - Week Three ReportBooked a flight.
Mileage = 15 miles
Long run = 5
Cheating = Cross-training consisted of getting Cole and Anna in and out of Costco unharmed. Does that count?
Weight = 176-178
Injuries = Feeling OK.
Route =Down to the Bay and back. Twice. Plus 4 laps around Gamecock. Short runs on the bridge.
Tunes = Def Leppard - Rock of Ages (good summer songs), The Arcade Fire - Funeral, and The Who - The Kids are Alright
